Before
Woodstove had been installed to replace damaged brick fireplace after the 1989 earthquake.
After
We kept the same wood-stove, adding a warm coppery color with fire-resistant paint. Tiling replaced with natural marble tiles. Laquered antique pillars and mantle added with beveled mirror inset; restoring the impression of an original fireplace in this 1908 home.
Before
Cabinets had been installed where the chimney had previously been.
Dining Room after
The natural wood floor is exposed with the use of a smaller rug. Walls are greatly improved with "Crimson-Copper" treatment. Cabinets are opened up to display sculpture. Re-tiling of the mantle-base is shown underway.
